Introducing the Korea Basic Science Institute
The Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI) provides analytical support services using large-scale and advanced research equipment (a total of 537 instruments). It also carries out industry–academia–research collaboration based on advanced analytical technologies in the fields of bio, materials, and earth environment, develops research equipment, and oversees the management of national research infrastructure.

Daejeon Headquarters
It houses the headquarters for institute operations and the NFEC, and carries out materials research and research equipment development.
Metropolitan Area Center
Provides convergence research based on precision analysis and R&D services focused on supporting businesses.
Ochang Bio-Environment Research Center
Conducts interdisciplinary research in the bio and earth environment fields, including biopharmaceuticals, disease diagnostics, and environmental pollution analysis.
Honam Regional Center
Carries out research in analytical technologies and supports equipment utilization tailored to the demands of regional industries such as nanomaterials and life sciences.
Yeongnam Regional Center
Provides analytical services based on basic science, along with research linked to regional strategic industries such as metals and energy materials.
