  • Establishment of a next-generation multimodal biosignal analysis platform based on the integration of multidimensional molecular information, and conduct of precision biomedical diagnosis and prediction research

Research Content

  • Provision of an innovative foundation for elucidating the pathological mechanisms of intractable diseases and evaluating the efficacy of next-generation pharmaceuticals through an integrated analysis platform of spatial and functional information based on multi-omics and imaging technologies such as mass spectrometry imaging (MSI), Raman imaging, stable isotopes, and HR-MAS NMR
  • Development of multimodal data integration (Data Fusion) algorithms and conduct of research on discovering disease-specific “Multimodal Biomarker” panels from complex biosignal patterns using AI

Research Infrastructure

Ultra-high-resolution molecular mapping based on the MS-CARS-Raman convergent platform

  • Elucidation of the quantitative spatial distribution of therapeutic drugs and biomolecules in tissues at ultra-high resolution by combining the chemical precision of mass spectrometry with the spatial resolution of Raman imaging
  • Analysis of the spatial distribution of proteomes, metabolites, and drugs in tissues and cells

MS-NMR convergent chiral analysis technology

  • Analysis of the optical properties and structures of chiral metabolites and pharmaceuticals based on NMR recognition/discrimination using chiral selectors and chiral selective separation by LC–MS/CE–MS
  • In vivo pharmacokinetics (PK) / pharmacodynamics (PD) analysis

Biological stable isotope analysis technology

  • Elucidation of isotopic regularities in various physical, chemical, and biological systems
  • Elucidation of bio- and pharmaceutical response mechanisms and tracing of disease origins through analysis of CNO stable isotope ratios
