Research Summary

Demand for the development of nanomaterials using rare earth metals, which are attracting attention as core materials for high-tech and eco-friendly industries such as electric vehicles, batteries, and displays, and analytical technology development for them, is rapidly increasing.

We have developed rare earth ion-doped nanomaterials with unique optical properties and a platform technology to analyze and optimize the luminescence properties at a single nanoparticle level.

Through this analysis technology, we understand the energy transfer mechanism within a single particle and present the most efficient luminescence characteristics according to the doping composition of rare earth ions.

Expected Outcomes

Based on the development of analysis platform technology at the level of single nanoparticles, it is expected to develop high-value-added nanomaterials and create new industries such as optical sensors, catalysts, displays, and magneto-optical devices of new concepts.
