  • Study on the selectively introduced hydrophobic functionality on the external surface of silica nanotubes

Representative Research Cases

Characterization of rare-earth-doped tellurite glasses

  • Synthesized transparent tellurite glasses by doping rare-earth element Eu, obtained tellurite glasses with various structures with heat-treatment, and synthesized Eu2Te6O15 crystal. Showed that rare-earth-doped tellurite glasses have excellent luminescent properties and optical applications
  • Thermal and optical characterization of Eu-doped transparent tellurite glasses

Electrode materials research for the lithium ion secondary batteries

  • Applied newly designed binder system with introduced EDTA for the anode materials development
  • Schematic diagram showing the functions of the introduced EDTA keeping stable SEI layers for the silicon anode materials of LIBs

Materials development for energy storage: development of introducing hydrophobic functional gropu on the external surface of silica nanotubes

  • Prepared helixed silica nanotubes by using an organic gelate
  • Developed synthesis method for the introducing selective hydrophobic functional group on silica external surface
  • Established eliminating technique of organic gelate by using the cleaning method, which can replace the calcination method
  • Schematic diagram showing the synthesis procedures for the silica nanotubes with internal hydrophilic Si-OH functional groups and external hydrophilic COH functional groups, and silica nanotube images
